Tamara Wilder founded IUD Awareness following a devastating response to using a Copper Paragard IUD for birth control. After first being told by her doctor that her problems “could not be related to the IUD”, her problems immediately improved after removal of the foreign object.
She was then repeatedly assured that IUDs were safe and that she was one of the “rare few” who had problems. As she began to share her stories and connect with other IUD Survivors, it became apparent that there was a need for a place that anyone could more easily find the countless stories about adverse effects and problems that can are out there.
IUD Awareness is now a hub of information for those who are having problems to find the support that they desperately need.
